The PSL faculty and cohort will mostly be based at the Melanthi Mansion in Makrinitsa (Facebook).

The Melanthi, which is comprised of three renovated historic stone towers, boasts a breathtaking view over the Pagasetic gulf. Simultaneously set off from Makrinitsa's main street and right in the middle of things, the Melanthi offers Wi-Fi connectivity, a coffee bar accessible throughout the day and many indoor and outdoor lounge areas. Participants will share double and triple suites. (Single rooms are available at an extra charge). Lodging includes a breakfast buffet.

Participants this year will also have the option of staying in communal rooms (bunk beds, 4-6 person per room, breakfast optional with an additional charge) at the Selina Centavros Pelion Hostel. The Selina is set slightly below the village, but linked by footpaths both to the village and to the school.

Of course, cohort members can also choose to make their own arrangements in Volos or Makrinitsa.

Food

Coffee, tea, fruit, water and snacks will be available throughout the day at the Lab 'base' (at the historic old village school). We will host a dinner the first and last nights of the program.

Makrinitsa is a cosmopolitan village that offers a range of dining options, from take-away souvlaki to quaint taverns, where participants can eat (at their own expense :). There is a small kitchen at the school and participants can do limited cooking/salad preparation there (dependent on cleaning up after themselves.)

During our hikes and other excursions, participants also will have the opportunity to enjoy local specialities in other villages and at the beach.
