Housing and Food
Chania is the gateway between east and west Pelion, and travellers used to stay here for the night at one of the local hostels to break the long trip with horses. This, in fact, is how the village derived its name, from the word chania, which means “hostels”.
PSL participants will be housed at the Anamar Pelion Resort, a 4-star Hotel at the top of Mount Pelion, certainly a much more comfortable and well-equipped lodging than the hostels of Chania’s past. The Hotel offers Wi-Fi connectivity, access to a swimming pool, a coffee bar accessible throughout the day (which will offer to PSL participants a 30% discount on the menu prices) and a reading lounge. All the participants will stay in double and triple rooms. The PSL fees include half board (breakfast and one meal per day). The menu will be created around the dietary needs of PSL participants. All the meals are based on recipes from the local cuisine and use fresh, home-made products. Coffee-making supplies, fruit, water and some basic snacks also will be available throughout the day at the “Centaur” Scout camp. There is a refrigerator in which participants can store some (limited) food supplies. |
